2026/2027 Orchestra & Chamber Season

GRYS offers rolling admissions, so students are welcome to join throughout the year. There are 5 concert cycles during the school year:

  • Veterans Concert (11/6)

  • Spooktacular (10/27)

  • GRYSmas (12/4)

  • Symphony of Color Kickoff (3/6)

  • Symphony of Color (5/7)

While students are encouraged to participate in all concert cycles, we understand there are many competing priorities. If you choose to sit out a concert cycle, you must notify Amanda Casper at least 2 weeks before the following cycle. Students entering the program throughout the year must resume at the beginning of the concert cycle, for example: GRYSmas rehearsals begin on 11/6 and the concert cycle ends on 12/4.

The 2026/2027 program is now accepting applications! GRYS orchestra rehearsals resume on August 27th. Auditions are due by August 24th. Sign up button and program info are below.

Sign Up!

  • All students between the ages of 6 - 18 are eligible to join GRYS, provided they can read music. GRYS offers ensembles at all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Read more on our FAQ page.

  • All Orchestra rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at First Rowlett United Methodist Church located at 4405 Main St, Rowlett, TX 75088.

    • Intermediate Strings rehearsals are from 7:00 - 8:30 PM

    • Advanced Full Orchestra rehearsals are from 7:00 - 9:00 PM

    All Chamber rehearsals are held on Sundays (late afternoon) at Joy Lutheran Church.

    • February 4, 11, 18, 25,

    • March - 4, 6 (Symphony of Color Kickoff Concert) , 18, 25

    • April - 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

    • May - 6, 7 (Symphony of Color gala Concert)

  • Tuition includes:

    • Registration Fee: $25 (due upon filling out application)

    • Chamber Music Cycle: $175

    • Intermediate / Advanced Orchestra (Fall Semester Only): $325

    • Annual Tuition (2025 - 2026): $625

    A service fee is added to our website tuition pricing to cover credit card payment processing. To avoid processing fees, please pay by check, cash or via Zelle to acasper@greaterrockwallyouthsymphony.org.

    Financial Aid, including scholarships and payment plans, is available - no student will be turned away due to financial hardship. Upon completing the Sign Up form, you can fill out the financial aid form here.
