David Billings

David Billings has spent over 16 years as a dedicated public servant, serving on two City Councils and as the former Mayor of Fate, Texas. His passion for public service and commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents has established him as a transformative leader in local governance. In addition to his public service, David has contributed his time and talents to several nonprofit organizations and church boards, including serving as President, Vice President, and Treasurer. He also serves on the board of directors for the North Texas Commission, where he advocates for regional collaboration and economic growth across North Texas.
David’s professional career includes an impressive 32-year tenure at AT&T. As a Product Director, he was instrumental in the significant growth of the AT&T Business Internet sector. His expertise extended to network operations and IP network engineering, where he played a crucial role in the development and deployment of new internet products and services, contributing meaningfully to the company's advancement in the telecommunications industry.
Prior to his corporate career, David served honorably in the U.S. Navy Submarine Force from September 1978 to December 1988. He held the rank of First-Class Missile Technician, maintaining the operational readiness of nuclear weapons and their supporting computer systems.
David completed two strategic deterrence deployments in the North Atlantic and earned his "dolphins" qualification within six weeks of his first deployment. His exemplary service was recognized with the Navy Achievement Medal.
