Amanda Casper

Executive Director & Founder

Amanda Casper founded GRYS in 2022 after completing her master’s degree in Horn Performance at Southern Methodist University. Before founding GRYS, Amanda had an active freelance career throughout New York, Cleveland, and Florida. While in Florida, Amanda founded a successful horn studio (the Florida Horn Studio) and taught over 100 horn students at over a dozen schools. Some of her former students have attended prestigious summer festivals including Aspen, Tanglewood and Interlochen. She also had several students receive full rides to programs at Eastman, the University of Michigan, and the Royal Conservatory of Scotland.

Amanda began her classical training at an early age and quickly excelled in the Juilliard Pre-college program in middle school. In high school, she continued her training at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-college. In 2006, Amanda received her Bachelor of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with members of the Cleveland Orchestra. Amanda offers a unique perspective as an educator, as she was a licensed clinical social worker for many years. She received a Bachelor of Psychology from Case Western Reserve University (’06) as well as a Master in Social Work degree (’11).

Amanda brings a wealth of diverse experience and is excited to incorporate her many skills she has acquired over the past 25 years of teaching, as well as learning and growing in a variety of disciplines.
